Biking Around Pai and 50 Photos Of It

I was there in Pai, Thailand last July. It was the low season/ raining season. Would definitely suggest you to visit this quaint little backpackers' paradise during the low season if you are looking on cheaper bargains and choices of guesthouse to stay at.

I rented my bike for 1 day at just 150 baht and extra charges for insurance if you would like to add in from Aya service. I rented the bike at the evening and returned it 24 hours later the next day. You do not need to have a motorbike license. The people who's renting out the bike will just ask whether you know how to ride one.

However I would not suggest to people who have not tried it before especially girls because my friends had an accident when they rode it for the 1st time there. You might just end of getting a backpackers' tattoo on your body at the end of the day ;)

I had one hella fun zooming around and through the outskirts of the town.

Partner of the day ~~ Jeong from Korea

Stopped by half way through because it was raining and met this local lady smoking weed ;)

Korean, Japanese, Chinese, American and Malaysian

My bike!

Having a cuppa drink before continuing our journey to the waterfall

There's my bike and 3 other bicycles of my friends because they could not ride a motorbike

Here we are at Mor Paeng Waterfall

The partner wanted to buy cigarettes so we stopped by the local store and guess what we bumped into the same lady again! Hah....and NO, I DON'T SMOKE

Day 2 ~ rainy day....I went around the bike solo in the morning

Moi

Interesting toilet sign middle of no where

Life is wonderful

I was the only visitor here

The artsy fartsy part of PAI which I love so much

Karen joined me on my biking adventure later on...it was raining again the whole afternoon and so we stopped by at the Chinese Village which is also one of the tourist spot in Pai
Saw this thing in the village and so tempted to try out!!! Must be freaking fun I guess!
We are Asians so have to camwhore a bit ;P
And we saw a lady traditional wear plucking some plants. Ohh and she gave us some weird fruits that she got!
Craziness
Being crazy is so fun
Went back to the town center and Karen treated me ice cream! Check that sign on the table which says ~ Respect Thailand, Sit Properly
Hoping across the river
Our feet inside an elephant's footprint
Hello ;)
Saw the people on the elephant ride...I doubt that I'll ever do this
Elephant dunk!!
Roof of the building is heart shape
Saw the local harvesting lady fingers and so I decided to have a talk with him.
Suprisingly, the guy speaks a lil' english and so we had a short conversation
Coffee In Love...every year there's tones of people coming here to take their wedding shots. This place is made famous by a movie.
A dream came true....this is like a fairytale house.

Rode around zooming in and out of the small villages through the rice fields

Thank you for the wonderful memories

  2. Hi MapleRain,
I heard that Pai is over-commercialized. What do you think?

  3. Hi KhengSiong,

I was there on August which is the non-peak season and the town was pretty quiet so I did enjoyed it alot and in fact this is my favourite place in Thailand. However I did hear from the local guest house owner that it will be crowded during the year end peak season (weather is colder).
